Ecuador Habano
The Habano seed — the same genetic lineage as the legendary Vuelta Abajo tobacco of Cuba — finds a second home in the highlands of Ecuador. Grown in the country’s perpetual cloud cover at elevations above 1,200 meters, the Habano seed benefits from the diffused light that mimics the conditions of Cuba while drawing on the volcanic mineral richness of Andean soil.
The result is a wrapper that offers the spice and complexity of a Habano with a uniformity of burn and an elasticity that master rollers prize above most other varieties. The cloud cover acts as a natural shade tent, slowing growth and thickening the leaf’s oil glands.
