Peru Maduro Oscuro
The highland valleys of northern Peru sit at elevations between 1,500 and 2,200 meters above sea level — a cool, mineral-rich environment that slows the tobacco plant’s growth dramatically. This extended growing cycle concentrates sugars, oils, and organic compounds in the leaf to levels rarely seen in tobacco from other origins.
After harvest, the Peruvian Maduro Oscuro undergoes a multi-year natural fermentation in temperature-controlled pilones. The process darkens the leaf from a deep brown to near-black, develops the characteristic oily surface, and transforms harsh alkaloids into the sweet, complex compounds that define the Oro’s profile.
The result is one of the world’s rarest Maduro wrappers. Each Oro leaf is individually hand-selected, with only the finest graduating to the production floor of our Nicaraguan factory.
